Solar Hot Water - Solaris Canada

Welcome.  Solaris is a BC owned and operated company with a passion for renewable solar heating. Our roots go back to 1988 when we made hot water systems for high end homes in Vancouver. In 2007 Solaris began to design and test solar heating systems, that emerged in 2011. We have CSA F-378 on our collectors, CSA on our solar tanks, have Engineered Drawing for F-379 and expect full CSA F-379 certification on our packaged system by the end of 2011.  More On Solaris Certifications

Our strengths come from our Alliance partners, such as the World's largest solar themal manufacturer GREENoneTEC in Austria, and their parent company KIOTO Clean Energy who provides the ISO 14001 quality control and robotic production in North America for our BluTec flat plate collectors:  Proven Reliable with more than 1 Million installations over 20 years, from the Artic to Egypt.  More on Solaris Alliance Parners

Solaris Engineered design is based on 35 years of commercial solar thermal experience from Dr. Ben Gravely. Solaris professional engineer partners also includes Hemmera Consulting, Stantec Engineering, and Stage 3 Renewables.  Solaris not only leads in commercial solar design and supply, but we also make our residential packages on the same principal of reliable elegant simplicity.  More on Commercial Design

7 Top Drainback Advantages
Solar collectors on home roof
  1. Drainback Pro uses pure water, which is the best heat transfer fluid with a heat capacity 16% higher than glycol solutions;
  2. Pure water is pH 7 (neutral), the H2O chemistry does not change due to pressure or temperature, glycol does change
  3. Drainback with pure pH 7 water adds 30% to the life-cycle over a gyclol system that is acidic by nature;
  4. Drainback has been operating in Europe and America since the 1970s, Dr. Ben's first drainback systems are still running after 35 years;
  5. Drainback is maintenance free, there is no glycol replacement at $150/3yrs or $150/yr RP backflow testing, that saves at least $200 year;
  6. Drainback Pro is scaleable, the same system that works for 2 collectors, also works scaled for 200 collectors, glycol problems compound with size.
  7. Drainback is the most reliable, it does not have a dozen valves or chemicals like glycol that breaks down.

Durability

Solaris technology partner GREENoneTEC has been the recognized leader for durability, with over a million collectors installed and operating reliably for over 20 years.

A friendly Engineer in San Diego, Gal, was confident that our solar collectors are built like rocks and last forever.
